One of ITFC’s 1978 FA Cup Final heroes – George represented the club throughout the glorious Bobby Robson era.

He was voted the 2000-01 Premier League Manager of the Year – becoming one of only 12 people to have won the award.

The team’s fifth place finish that season remains the highest that any promoted team has finished in the Premier League since 1995.

As a result, George became only the third Ipswich manager to lead the club into European competition.
